Valorization of agroressources intersection

The transversal intersection aims to federate the members of various teams of the cross-border UMR, spread over the three poles of the Unit, who have a research activity in the field of Bioeconomy and its developments in economic, societal and environmental level.

The strategy of Bioeconomics aims at an increased and sustainable mobilization of Biomass in order to guarantee nutritional and non-nutritional needs, while respecting Biodiversity and the Environment and reducing the dependence of these activities on fossil resources.

In this way, a large number of the research activities developed within the cross-border UMR are concerned with this theme. In fact, Cluster 1 is mainly focused on the study of innovative agrosystems and the response of plants to the environment, therefore on the production of Biomass. Cluster 2 is more oriented towards obtaining active biomolecules or enzymatic activities from plant biomass or microorganisms, therefore on Biotechnological approaches to the Bioeconomy. Finally, some of these biomolecules may have applications in the cosmetics and health sectors and are therefore of interest to Cluster 3 which is able to assess their activities and their possible toxicities.

Thus, the transversal intersection "Valorization of Agroresources" aims to ensure the scientific animation of the UMR around the Bioeconomy and to initiate exchanges between researchers from the three clusters.
