Assistant professor

Assistant professor

UMRt BioEcoAGro is recruiting an assistant professor in plant biotechnologies.

Training:

The person recruited will teach in the Biology Department of the University of Lille, on the Villeneuve d'Ascq campus. Villeneuve d'Ascq campus.
In the form of lectures, tutorials and practical work, he/she will be mainly involved in Plant Biotechnology, Plant Physiology and Plant Biology for students Biology for students in the Life Sciences (BCP) and Life Sciences (BCP) and Life and Earth Sciences, the Nutrition and Food Sciences master's Sciences (IBVEM course) and the Biotechnologies Master's degree (ICM course).

Pedagogical objectives:

The candidate will have a solid grounding in plant biotechnology, as well as in plant biology and physiology, so that he or she can take part in the teaching of plant biotechnology. plant biology and physiology, so as to be able to take part in undergraduate and bachelor's and master's levels.
The candidate will be part of the Biology department's teaching team, and will take on the the responsibility or co-responsibility of several teaching units, and in particular that of a a plant cell biotechnology workshop at Master's level.

Need for supervision:

The person recruited will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the in vitro plant collection used for teaching purposes.
He/she will also be responsible for the management of the cultivation room and the room used for teaching (scheduling, autoclave, etc.).
Gradually, a strong involvement in the management of the IBVM Master will be proposed (responsibility for the year, internships, projects, etc.).

Research thematic:

The UMR-Transfrontalière BioEcoAgro is a multi-tutelle unit (including Univ-Lille, Univ-Liège, UPJV) associated with INRAE. The lecturer will carry out his or her research research at the Faculté des Sciences et Technologies campus in Villeneuve d'Ascq d'Ascq (University of Lille). He or she will join team 5 “Métabolites Spécialisés
of plant origin”, whose expertise concerns the identification and production of of specialized metabolites from plants such as industrial chicory, with a view to their in a OneHealth context, but also for new food uses.
food uses.
He or she will contribute to projects aimed at: (i) study and elucidate the molecular molecular scale, the biosynthesis of specialized metabolites (phenolic compounds terpenes, etc.) and (ii) characterize the regulation of this synthesis by environmental factors (abiotic/biotic).
The person recruited will thus be involved in the activities of the CHIC41Health joint University-Company team focusing on industrial chicory (CHIC'IN project funded under the France-Relance 2030 program), but also in
other plants studied as part of the Charles Viollette industrial chair. Charles Viollette industrial chair.
A wealth of experience in in vitro culture and plant biotechnologies, as well as molecular biology tools (CRISPR Cas 9 or others) are required. or other) are required.

Taking on responsibilities expected:

Take charge of and manage the conservation of all the laboratory's in vitro in vitro plant resources (2,500 plants).
Involvement in setting up and monitoring projects (ANR, European projects, industrial contracts, etc.). industrial contracts, etc.)

Pedagogical innovation:

The person recruited will be encouraged to implement innovative teaching methods that encourage active student participation as well as the introduction of modules in English as part of the IBVEM Master's program, which is with other countries.
